Richard
MSc, BA (Hons), FRSA
Strategy, Business Development & EDI Lead

After 15 years in industry Richard founded Pd-m in 2005 when he spotted a gap in the market for a full turn-key design consultancy. He is responsible for business growth and delivering exceptional service to clients. A strong operational background and inquisitive mind. He has an MSc in Senior Leadership and has a particular interest in working with clients to apply design with leadership.

Tim
BA (Hons)
Senior Product Designer & Technical Lead

Tim has been with Pd-m since 2007 and lives and breathes product design. There’s nothing he loves more than getting stuck into a new challenge. As a strong lateral thinker his drive is always to find a beautifully simple solution to a complicated problem. Tim strikes a great balance between a creative designer and a technical engineer.

Alastair
BSc (Hons)
Product Designer & IMS Lead

Al originally joined Pd-m for a year-long internship 14 years ago before graduating with a First Class Honours. Since then he’s worked in three design consultancies, developing his skills in design which range from ideation to engineering and manufacture. Now Al is back, in addition to working on innovation and sustainability projects he is instrumental in leading our ISO 9001 / 14001 certifications

Rich

Commercial & Sustainability Lead

Having worked for several years in the bike Industry, first in Germany and later New Zealand, Rich has gained a huge wealth of experience in design, product management and offshore manufacturing. More recently through his role at Kathmandu, he has been exposed to the huge progress in sustainability, igniting a passion for circular design which he now champions at Pd-m.

Andrew
Company Chairman (non-exec.)

Andrew has extensive experience running highly successful SMEs at Managing Director level. Recently Andrew is utilising this for a major piece of work, HealthTRIP with the ABHI, CPI funded by Innovate UK aimed at improving the life sciences landscape. A long-term director of MediWales, the life science network for Wales, Andrew has a strong record in re-shoring to UK manufacture and improving the carbon footprint.

Nick
Business development

Helping us with business development and client relationships, Nick sums himself up in three words: Enthusiastic, driven and funny (you’ll have to meet him to see if the last one is true). His mission is to get people to engage early in the product design process, to “break the mould and stop making another ‘me too’ product.”

Neha
MA
Marketing Lead

Allow us to introduce Neha, our talented marketing coordinator. With a keen eye for creativity and a knack for problem-solving, Neha brings a fresh perspective to our marketing team. Her innovative thinking and strategic approach make them a valuable asset as we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of marketing. She has a background in ideating and executing marketing strategy and we can't wait to see her unique insights and skills in action.

Julia
Finance

Julia has been at Pd-m since 2005. She was introduced to Richard through Business Link, became his book-keeper and has followed him around North Yorkshire (and his various studios) ever since. Conscientious, friendly and good at her job, Julia’s keen eye and attention to detail means nothing goes awry or gets missed.

Helen

Helen is our tenacious, motivated and loyal Company Secretary. Since day one she has been integral to the smooth running of things in the background. As a trained interior architect, she also has the combination of creative flair with a meticulous attention to detail, making her involvement an asset on any project.

Intellectual property is a critical element for future commercial success. On our pathway to commercialisation, we’ll often generate Intellectual Property in the form of patents or registered designs. That’s why we guide our clients with the support of trusted partners who are experts in IP, carrying out thorough searches that highlight gaps we can use strategically to develop product ideas that keep their IP safe, confident there are no infringements.
